What an incredible time we had with our special Haitian visitor to Canada, Director of Rayjon Share Care Haiti, Renaud Thomas!
During his first ever journey to North America, Renaud experienced big contrasts between life in Haiti and Canada. He approached every experience as a learning and teaching opportunity. He had an incredibly busy schedule, with major fundraising events, speaking engagements, visits with partners and friends, and some time to enjoy Canadian pastimes and scenery.
Among the many highlights of Renaud's visit were special tours of Aspen Grove (a spectacular private garden), Walpole Island First Nation (to learn about cooperative agriculture), dancing bachata at CaribeFest, a day of sailing on Lake Huron, and exploring Montreal.
Finishing off his Canadian tour, we celebrated with a Rayjon community barbecue (hosted by Marlo/Roza and complete with Haitian rum!), and Renaud was a special guest on "Franco Découvertes," a French-radio show hosted by Haitian-Canadian author/artist Gabriel Osson.
