Prencesa, Dominican Republic
Prencesa, age 4, [left] is one of an estimated 500,000 Haitian migrants living in the neighbouring Dominican Republic, which is also home to as many as 1 million Dominican-born persons with some form of Haitian ancestry.

Today families like Prencesa’s are being persecuted by authorities, denied basic human rights like health care and education, and terrorized with sudden deportation. 
Prencesa is shown here playing with her new friend Ronielis, enrolled at a Rayjon-supported preschool where all children are welcome. Their friendship speaks of another possible future, in which no child is left behind.
